As recruiting season approaches in August, now is the time to refine your resume and make sure it stands out. This interactive workshop will begin with a brief presentation covering practical tips on crafting a resume tailored specifically for accounting and finance roles — what recruiters look for, how to structure your experience, and how to highlight your technical and leadership skills effectively.

Following the presentation, participants will engage in peer-to-peer resume reviews. You’ll exchange resumes with fellow attendees and provide constructive, field-specific feedback.

The goal of this workshop is simple: help you feel confident and prepared heading into accounting recruiting season in August.

By reviewing resumes together, we leverage the collective knowledge of our CalCPA community. Peer feedback often catches details we overlook and offers perspective from individuals who understand our industry expectations.

What to Bring

Please come prepared with:

• 5 printed copies of your resume
• A laptop (optional, if you’d like to make edits on-site)
• One red pen and one blue pen for reviewing
