“COOLEST PROFESSION AROUND!!”
Tayiika M. Dennis, Chair. State CA CPA
Join the Los Angeles MAP Committee as we follow-up on our previous 4 powerhouse panel discussions about how the profession can add additional value to clients, the firms themselves as well as building a talent foundation focused on how exciting and value-oriented the CPA Profession really is.
Once thought of as the “green eyeshade” and heads-down profession, the CPA of today lives in a dynamic world of change, AI, IT, client service, highly professional standards while geared to help clients fulfill their needs in ways that can go way beyond the perception of tax and accounting, even though they are very important.
This panel’s goal is to expand on the original premise that we are all missing how important and exciting the profession is and can be even more. Ms. Dennis’ philosophy of tapping into the strengths and dynamics of the work of CPAs can help us, as a profession, to raise the interest of younger and future talent and also of current professionals who are struggling with where we (they) are going. How can we make a unique difference!!
If we look around ourselves and our firms, what is perceived as the most important area—talent, future talent, retention, development and training, sustainability and succession throughout the firm? Let’s start by truly honoring and exploring how exciting, important and dynamic what we do is. Making it drudgery is not the answer.
Learn about how we can take a stand to shift to the real reality of the CPA Profession as Trusted Advisors in all areas. This panel is about developing ideas, action areas and meaningful thought of how to embrace a new way to look at ourselves today and in the future plus changes, small and large, that we need to make. Looking forward to your participation!
